Acadia National Park is the only national park in the northeastern United States and a true coastal wonder. Nestled into the far-flung, rocky coast of Maine, Acadia National Park is home to majestic forests, tranquil ponds, rounded mountains, and wild coastline.
Once a summer retreat for America’s elite, the area making up Acadia National Park was given back to the people by conservation-minded locals led by George Dorr. Now, you can visit this coastal paradise and marvel at its expansive beauty.

Maps of Acadia National Park

Schoodic Peninsula Map
Across the bay from Mount Desert Island, the Schoodic Peninsula awaits. It’s known as the “Quiet Side of Acadia” due to less traffic and more room to yourself on the trails and the scenic viewpoints. Schoodic Peninsula has its own loop road that is open all year, weather permitting.
Some people choose to take the one-hour drive to the Schoodic Peninsula or ride the ferry from Bar Harbor to Winter Harbor, which is a 45-minute scenic journey across Frenchman’s Bay.

Isle Au Haut Map
If you don’t have your own boat, you’ll need to take a ferry from Stonington to Isle au Haut, an island of which half belongs to Acadia National Park. Keep in mind that Stonington is 60 miles/90 minutes from Bar Harbor on Deer Isle. The Isle au Haut ferry stops in Duck Harbor, and the Isle au Haut town landing seasonally.
